Organizational Profile:

World Vision Japan was established in October 1987. By 2001, we have supported 60 projects in 25 countries, including relief activities in Bosnia, Kosovo, Kenya and East Timor. The number of Child Sponsors in Japan has reached 17,000 and World Vision Japan has been supporting over 20,000 children. World Vision Japan has carried out various kinds of activities worth 1,726 million yen.

World Vision Japan was certified as Specified Nonprofit Corporation in October1999.

World Vision is a non-government organization based on Christianity. It is recognized and registered by the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The organization was established in 1950 in Oregon, USA. Until now, World Vision has worked in 100 countries in the world, assisting more than 1,900,000 children through area development of the Child Sponsorship Programs.

World Vision has carried out 1,300 projects in total including emergency relief, water resource and agriculture development, etc., worth 115 billion yen (approx. US$964,209,000).
