Organizational Profile:

Save the Children Japan was established in 1986 with support from the Osaka Junior Chamber and the International LadiesEBenevolent Association. It is a member of the International Save the Children Alliance, a partnership of 32 individual country members working for a better future of children in more than 100 nations throughout the world.

SCJ currently operates in Nepal, Vietnam, Myanmar, the Philippines, Afghanistan and Mongolia. The programs cover basic education, family education, maternal and child health, nutrition, safe water and sanitation, and home for street children. SCJ has also started emergency relief programs in 2001. SCJ works to improve the basic capacity of the families and the community to ensure the childrens rights are put into practice.
