2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the eCentre. To commemorate this, the UNHCR Representation in Tokyo and Japan Ministry of Foreign affairs will host a symposium on Strengthening Emergency Preparedness and Response in the Asia-Pacific region.

The symposium will take place at 1330 on Thursday afternoon, June 10, at U Thant Hall, United Nations University, Tokyo, Japan. It will feature keynote speeches from Mr. John Holmes, United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, and Mrs. Sadako Ogata, President, Japan International Cooperation Agency.
