These are the materials of training on “Who are refugees”. This training aims to put “a human face” on the refugee protection and overcome the common phenomenon of treating the displacement in gross numbers only without considering the sub-group characteristics of the refugees. The training materials are constituted of three which are presentation, reading document and trainer’s note. When you see the presentation, please refer the trainer’s note as well.

Protection in Practice-I & II

These are the materials of training on “Protection in Practice”. This training aims to;
  • Discuss practical aspects of applying the principles of protection,
  • Understand how the laws work under different circumstances based on problems facing the refugees,
  • Discuss the need for all staff to be able to identify protection issues and be aware of when to notify a protection officer, and
  • Be able to refer to appropriate guidelines and information sources for protection.
The training materials are constituted of two which are presentation and trainer’s note. When you see the presentation, please refer the trainer’s note as well.
International Protection

International Protection

These are the materials of training on “International Protection”. This training aims to;
  • Understand the implications of international protection and the responsibilities associated with it,
  • Be familiar with the international and national laws and instruments guiding the protection of refugees,
  • Be better able to translate these laws into practical protection action, and
  • Understand the different viewpoints influencing the protection of refugees and IDPs.
