Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR) oftenincludes international articles. Use the search engine to find specific articles or browse by subject.

Web page offers list of publications that can be ordered or (if MMWR) can be found on-line. Topics are: communicable diseases, water / sanitation, nutrition, general. Publications are also listed country specific. Famine-Affected, Refugee, and Displaced Populations: Recommendations for Public Health Issues is available on line.

Website offers program information and a list of online publications on mental health, nutrition, and surveillance from IECD work experience.

The main focus of the Centre is on safeguards, public health and the sanitation aspects of disaster. CRED also studies the socio-economic and long-term effects of these large-scale disasters. CRED's activities cover applied research, the development of management tools, logistics and training.

Website includes information about CRED, brief summaries of current projects, information about courses, and access to a list of orderable publications and online publications. Publications are available in English, French, or Spanish and cover a variety of emergency and health issues.

http://www.cred.be/emdat/ EM-DAT: The main objective of the OFDA/CRED International Disaster Databaseis to serve the purposes of humanitarian action at national and international levels. It is an initiative aimed to rationalize decision making for disaster preparedness, as well as providing an objective base for vulnerability assessment and priority setting.

·         Disaster Databases contains essential core data on the occurrence and effects of over 12,000 mass disasters in the world from 1900 to present. Submit your email address for future updates and click on Continue to download databases in zip format. Check out Glossary for definitions of terms common to disaster information and Guidelines, which helps explain the information and format of the database.

·         Summary Data contains various statistical reports, figures and tables, highlighting various aspects of disasters. Disaster Profiles and Map Center are currently limited to natural disasters but are set to include conflict related material in the future. Search Engine and Emergency Documentation are currently in development and unusable. Links page offers access to UN agencies and various other organizations working in disaster relief.

The mission serves to provide assistance and emergency aid to victims of natural catastrophes and conflicts.

English website is temporarily under construction. French website offers access to information about ECHO mission and activities, as well as lists of orderable ECHO publications and NOHA (Network on Humanitarian Assistance – an advanced degree program) manuals. Several Journals are potentially available – Ethics and Humanitarian Affairs, Humanitarian Action: Perception and Security, and Humanitarian Affairs Review.

The website provides information about GINIE, how the website works, and provides discussion forum for members. Home page provides links to featured related links. Search engine is currently inoperable, but should be useful in the future.

International Committee of the Red Cross

The mission of The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) directs and coordinates the international relief activities conducted by the Movement in situations of conflict. It also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.
