professional CDC staff. Website offers program information and a list

The Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of
Disasters (CRED)

The main
focus of the Centre is on safeguards, public health and the sanitation
aspects of disaster. CRED also studies the socio-economic and long-term
effects of these large-scale disasters. CRED's activities cover applied
research, the development of management tools, logistics and training.

includes information about CRED, brief summaries of current projects,
information about courses, and access to a list of orderable publications
and online
publications. Publications are available in English, French, or
Spanish and cover a variety of emergency and health issues.

EM-DAT: The main objective of the OFDA/CRED International
Disaster Databaseis to serve the purposes of humanitarian action at
national and international levels. It is an initiative aimed to rationalize
decision making for disaster preparedness, as well as providing an
objective base for vulnerability assessment and priority setting.

Databases contains essential core data on the occurrence and effects of
over 12,000 mass disasters in the world from 1900 to present. Submit your

Summary Data
contains various statistical reports, figures and tables, highlighting
various aspects of disasters. Disaster
