AlertNet provides global news, communications and logistics services to the international disaster relief community and the public.

Home page presents daily updated news from member organizations and Reuters News Service.  The site also includes an international register of aid suppliers; an information exchange for members (to apply to be a member visit members application); databases of training, events (diary), and contacts in the relief community (AlertNet Members) and background information relevant to disaster relief. Relief Resources provide access to documents, articles, and links to sites on topics such as satellite images, children and war, working in relief, refugees, and technology.  For specific inquiries use the search engine.

CARE helps communities prepare for emergencies as well as provide food, water, shelter and health care to survivors of natural disasters and armed conflicts. CARE's rehabilitation programs include landmine removal and awareness, refugee repatriation and conflict resolution.

The Global IDP Project brings facts, figures and analysis on IDPs worldwide into one integrated information system.

Website provides access to Global IDP Database, which can be searched by country or keyword.  Wide range of information including: population profiles, causes and protection concerns, humanitarian access, subsistence concerns (health, nutrition, water, sanitation, and shelter), and access to education.  Downloadable Training modules that are based on the UN OCHA document: Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement and include themes such as protection, ethics, coordination, and community services.  Publications, weekly news, and a IDP links page are also on the site.

GTZ is a service enterprise for development cooperation with worldwide operations. GATE projects include:

• Information Service on the Adaptation and Dissemination of Technologies  Site contains a Documents page that offers access (online or orderable) to a series of documents related to appropriate technology in developing countries and project management.  Question and answer service available for anyone to send a question over the Internet. 
• Small-Scale Project Fund (SSPF) gives information about project fund and beneficiaries.
• Building Advisory Service and Information Network, GTZ-Gate Website includes access to a database, where one can search different building related subjects (pull down menu) for technical documents.  Publications  provides lists of building manuals and documents.  At the end of the page are directions for ordering.  Link to BASIN News magazine (select magazine from news page) also provides articles and opinions on building issues and innovations.  Links to BASIN Partners also available.
