The Refugee Studies
Centre (RSC) is part of the University of Oxford's International
Development Centre at Queen Elizabeth House. Its objectives are to carry
out multidisciplinary research and teaching on the causes and consequences
of forced migration; to disseminate the results of that research to policy
makers and practitioners, as well as within the academic community; and to
understand the experience of forced migration from the point of view of the
affected populations.

for debate on the most immediate issues facing refugees and internally
displaced people and those working with them. Articles, research abstracts,
conference reports and news items, present practice-oriented findings and
analyse policy issues. Articles from FMR and its predecessor the
Refugee Participation Network Newsletter are available on the web. Topics
have included children and youth, role of military in humanitarian work,
education and training, and reproductive health. Also find information on

Humanitarian Assistance Training Inventory contains information on training
activities and manuals of many different organizations. Search by
organization, date, country, or keyword. Keywords
include refugee, emergency management, shelter/site planning, logistics,
early warning, and coordination. Links to other training databases
and funding resources are also available.

Humanitarian Community Information Center (HCIC) promotes and facilitates
coordination by serving as an information focal point for local and
international NGOs, UN and other inter-governmental agencies, donors and
KFOR for Kosovo relief operations. Their website offers information on a
variety of topics related to the Kosovar effort including access to their GIS/Map
and Data coordination unit, which provides information on pcodes, GIS and
other map technologies.

The aim of the
Project is to improve the quality of assistance provided to people affected
by disasters, and to enhance the accountability of the humanitarian system
in disaster response.This project has developed a Humanitarian Charter and
a set of universal minimum standards in core areas of humanitarian assistance:
water supply & sanitation, nutrition, food aid, shelter & site
planning and health services.

Nations' principal provider of development advice, advocacy and grant
support. In addition to coordinating international humanitarian assistance
in crisis situations, UNDP provides a bridge between emergency relief and
long-term economic development. In societies wracked by conflict, UNDP
supports national and regional reconciliation; greater participation by
women in peace-building and democratization; reintegration of refugees and
displaced persons; reconstruction of war-torn communities; and
demobilization and reintegration of former soldiers into civil society.
