The mission of The International Committee of the Red

International Review of the Red Cross. Its aim is to promote
reflection on humanitarian policy and action and on international
humanitarian law, while at the same time strengthening the dialogue between

IOM provides migrants with secure, reliable,
cost-effective services including: counseling, document processing, medical
examination, transportation, language training and cultural orientation and
integration assistance. They also provide emergency assistance to persons
affected by conflict and post-conflict situations.

International Migration is a refereed quarterly review on
migration issues as analyzed by demographers, economists,
sociologists, political scientists and other social scientists from

International Rescue Committee

At the outbreak of an emergency, IRC provides sanctuary
and lifesaving assistance-rapidly delivering critical medical and public
health services, shelter and food. Once a crisis stabilizes, they set up
programs to enable refugees to cope with life in exile. Through training,
education and income-generating programs, they help refugees acquire new
skills to become self-sufficient.

Journal of

Journal encompasses all aspects of humanitarian
assistance, from early warning and emergency provision to post-conflict
peace building and the transition to development. This is inclusive of law,
politics, the military, logistics, and the work of national and
international organizations.

New Zealand Digital Library (University of

The New Zealand Digital Library project is a research programme at The
University of Waikato whose aim is to develop the underlying technology for
digital libraries and make it available publicly so that others can use it
to create their own collections.
Website provides access to several large document collections
including humanitarian and development information. Scroll down to
"humanitarian and UN collections" which includes the WHO –PAO Disaster Virtual Library and numerous other
libraries. Links to guides and manuals on health, medical, food, water,
nutrition, and development are downloadable. Search by subject, title, or
