The SMC is a non-profit research institute established in 1987 and based in Quezon City, Philippines. SMC is dedicated to encourage and facilitate the study of socio-demographic, economic, political, psychological, historical, legislative and religious aspects of human migration and refugee movements from and within Asia.

Website includes information about SMC, Data on Asian Migration (by country), a Directory of NGOs for Migrant Workersin Asia (by country), and Asian Migration News (bi-weekly updates). The website also contains subscription information and table of contents for two SMC journals: Asian Migrant(yearly) and Asian and Pacific Migration (quarterly). Asian Migrant is specifically targeted toward field workers, activists, NGO associates, and researchers; and often contains articles on area refugee populations. A library catalog will also be available online in the future.

The central role of UNICEF in emergencies is to act as an advocate for children. The organization believes that humanitarian interventions should be integrated with ongoing programs directed toward children and therefore focuses its assistance on such interventions as health, nutrition, immunization, education, water and sanitation.

On the left side tool bar several points of interest are emergencies, research and evaluation, and supply. Research and evaluation offers information about UNICEF’s division of Evaluation, Policy, and Planning, and its activities. Supply offers catalogue of products UNICEF can supply to registered procurement customers, information on how to become registered, and more general information on these activities.

Website contains information on agency and its activities. Links to News includes Latest Reports and Publications, which lists manuals, directories, handbooks, and other OCHA publications on disaster management, protection, coordination, complex emergencies, and internal displacement. Humanitarian Training offers access to a large database of UN and NGO training information and materials, and it also offers links to other training databases. Link to ReliefWeb is also available.

UNHCR is mandated by the United Nations to lead and coordinate international action for the world-wide protection of refugees and the resolution of refugee problems.

Web site provides information about UNHCR, programs, and activities; as well as general refugee information and news. The website is worth browsing on one’s own and the home page is pretty descriptive for its categories.

The world offers map and text-based access to country-specific information about refugees. Issues offers a topic-specific route to articles about refugee children, the environment, women's issues. Evaluation and Policy Analysis offers access to UNHCR reports that can be searched by country, theme, or date. Statistics related to crisis situations and UNHCR and partner efforts are also available.
